Dear Prospective Member,

I would like to introduce you to the Marblehead Yacht Club, and invite you to become a member. The Flag Officers and Board of Directors share our goal to provide the 'Best Small Yacht Club' in New England

The Marblehead Yacht Club provides it access to the harbor and a pleasant venue for our members to socialize and enjoy their mutual interest in boats and the sea.   The club, which was founded in 1878 and has occupied is present building since that date, is the oldest yacht club in Marblehead. The MYC was the first yacht club in Marblehead to admit women as members (1938), the first to have a woman flag officer (1975) and has never practiced discrimination for race, religion or any other reason.

The Marblehead Yacht Club's modest annual dues are the lowest of any yacht club in Marblehead because the club is in sound financial condition and because many members volunteer their time and skills in the operation of the club. New members with and without boats are welcome. Membership is easy to establish - just fill out an application. There is no sponsor, interview, or other procedure required.

Membership includes:

  • Launch service from early May to late October from our private dock to your yacht in an area from the Causeway to a boundary defined by Tuckers Wharf to the Pleon Yacht Club. We have 3 launches and believe that our launch service is the best on the harbor.
  • Use of the clubhouse, deck, floats with water and electric service. In spite of the fact that we have approximately 350 members, on many pleasant summer days and evenings you can have the clubhouse and the deck nearly to yourself. The club is available for personal functions of members - it is a wonderful place in which to celebrate a special event.
  • Excellent food service at reasonable prices is available on Friday evenings, weekends and holidays from June to September. Our Galley has earned a reputation as the 'Best Waterfront Dining Value on the North Shore'.
  • Club events such as wine tasting, cookouts, a sailboat race, a fishing tournament, and periodic social events are scheduled throughout the season.
  • You can take advantage of our reciprocal agreements with other yacht clubs when cruising or traveling. Typically, clubs with which we have reciprocal agreements provide our members use of their facilities at no charge.

The membership fee schedule is listed on our Web Site location titled 'Dues'.
